Over 3 Million Doses Covid19 Vaccine Arrives From China

PHNOM PENH:​ On the morning of Wednesday, 30 March 2022, another 3.5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from the aid of the Chinese government, as promised by the Chinese President, were delivered to Cambodia.

Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health Yuk Sambath said that the Chinese aid vaccine would be used to boost the injection process. She also said that the remaining more than 10 million doses that China will continue to send to Cambodia when needed and in accordance with the vaccination plan of the Cambodian side.

The Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Wu Guoquan, said "China is committed to helping Cambodia survive from the threat of Covid-19.” He further confirmed that in the future, China will send more Covid-19 vaccines to Cambodia.

On 18 March 2022, during a telephone meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen, Chinese President Xi Jinping confirmed to the Prime Minister that China would provide an additional 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Cambodia.

As of 29 March 2022, Cambodia has vaccinated 92.62% of its 16 million people. The vaccines used in Cambodia are Sinopharm, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Monderna and Pfizer.
